The Unplanned Route

The Expedition

You will travel in a highly modified off-road vehicle running on massive 42-inch tires, hand-built by the guide. Because the itinerary is dictated by the elements, the day could involve crossing unbridged rivers into the Icelandic Highlands or tracking down a clear valley on the South Coast. You have the option to request specific types of landscapes, but the best approach is to let the guide lead. Depending on the season and the terrain, the day often culminates with an impromptu outdoor barbecue or tobogganing down a snowpack before returning to the city.

The Local Difference

Exploring without a map requires deep generational knowledge. Your guide descends from the original pioneers of Icelandic off-roading. His grandfather used leftover American military tires to forge the original mountain horse paths into the highland F-road network you travel on today.
